Biological water treatment

Azuvia has solid expertise in biological water treatment.

Our teams of engineers and PhDs are constantly innovating to improve our biological water treatment processes. Azuvia therefore has a strong in-house Research & Development department, a sign of the company's commitment to innovation.

Our design office provides support to our customers, from sizing to commissioning, including the design and installation of our treatment systems.

We support our clients in rin drawing up plans and studies, in managing construction work , and regulatory matters with all the issues related toICPE and/or the reuse of treated wastewater (REUT)

We have extensive expertise in water treatment , which allows us to adapt to the various and sometimes specific needs of the market (nature of pollution, volumes, regulatory constraints, etc.).

Our engineers specializing in water treatment, hydraulics, mechanics, biology, and automation are able to solve a wide range of issues related to water treatment (industrial wastewater treatment, industrial wastewater reuse, improvement of process water quality).

Azuvia offers  tailored solutions and tailored to the needs of your production site.

Tailor-made support

At Azuvia, we support our customers from start to finish, from the initial studies to the commissioning of the SETEIA system. Each phase is structured to ensure regulatory compliance, technical performance, and smooth progress on site.

APS – Preliminary Draft Summary

Estimated duration: 60 to 80 days

  • Technical and administrative feasibility study
  • Carrying out the sizing study
  • Development of initial layout plans, process diagrams, and PIDs
  • Coordination of soil and structural studies
  • Preparation of the application for a building permit (PC) with our partners

DPP – Detailed Preliminary Project

Estimated duration: 50 to 70 days

  • Revision and consolidation of technical plans
  • Preparation of tender documents (Dossiers de Consultation des Entreprises)
  • Consultation with service providers
  • Logistical planning for the construction site
  • Coordination of subcontractors prior to implementation

REA – Production

Estimated duration: 40 to 60 days

  • Overall coordination of the project with our partner project manager
  • Implementation of technical requirements
  • Withdrawal of reservations
  • Complete installation of the SETEIA system and its equipment

MES – Commissioning

Estimated duration: 15 to 25 days

  • Commissioning of the device by our teams
  • Compilation of the DOE (Project Completion File)
  • Acceptance of the project and operational transfer to the client

Azuvia acts either as an equipment manufacturer (project management assistance) or turnkey (we take charge of the entire project).

R&D plants

SETEIA©is a biological wastewater treatment system.

We use bacteria and plants to remove nutrients and organic matter from wastewater.

Bacteria organize themselves into communities and form a layer on the surface of the culture medium (the substrate): the biofilm.

This layer of micro-organisms develops in response to nutrients present in the water and forms a polymeric matrix polymeric that protects the bacteria against environmental changes (fluctuations in pH, temperature) and disinfectants, to maintain high treatment efficiency.

Diversity and stability of bacterial communities in the biofilm are essential to ensure effective biological water treatment.

Pollution Control & Biotechnology

WeWe cultivate complementary bacterial colonies:

– Autotrophs , which convert ammonia into nitrates (nitrification)
–  Heterotrophs, which break down organic matter and convert nitrates into nitrogen gas (denitrification)

These two processes occur simultaneously in the biofilm, ensuring complete wastewater treatment.

Plants, on the other hand, havehyper-accumulationcapabilities. They absorb nutrients, mainly nitrogen and phosphorus compounds , as well as heavy metals, and release N2 through the natural mechanism of evapotranspiration.
